FAQs

  • Chiropractors hold a professional degree known as a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC), earned after four rigorous years of graduate study. This training equips us to diagnose and treat neuromusculoskeletal conditions, making us specialists in musculoskeletal health—much like doctors of dentistry or pharmacy are experts in their respective fields. Our comprehensive education also includes extensive hands-on experience, ensuring we provide effective, evidence-based care to our patients.

  • Adjustments are completely safe. Our role is to identify joints in your body that aren’t moving properly—what we call “restricted” joints. Once identified, we apply a high-velocity, low-amplitude adjustment to that area. Neck adjustments are performed within the “para-physiologic space,” which slightly exceeds the normal range of joint motion while remaining within the body’s safe zone. We take a thorough history to carefully determine whether an adjustment is necessary. As the saying goes, a good chiropractor knows how to adjust, but a great chiropractor knows when not to.

  • At Chironetics, we prioritize your health and well-being above all else. We don’t directly bill insurance because we believe you deserve comprehensive care without the limitations imposed by insurance coverage. We’ve witnessed how insurance can dictate your treatment, so we take pride in offering an all-inclusive approach to healthcare, ensuring you receive the care you need without concern for what your insurance may or may not cover.

  • In California, chiropractors are recognized as Portal of Entry providers, meaning you don’t need a referral to see us. Even better, you won’t need to bounce between specialists to understand what’s going on. From simple to complex neck and back pain, headaches, toe pain, abdominal discomfort, and more, we’re trained to assess whether your condition is musculoskeletal or if a referral is necessary. With us, you receive the comprehensive care you truly deserve. If we can’t help you, we will let you know on your first visit.

  • A rehab chiropractor is a healthcare professional who integrates chiropractic care, manual therapy, rehabilitative exercises, and strength/performance training to not only relieve your pain but also keep it from returning. We pride ourselves on our meticulous attention to your specific needs, addressing the root cause of your pain to prevent recurrence. If your pain ever does return, we ensure you’re equipped with the tools to manage it for life. We focus on providing long-term solutions, not temporary fixes. After all, active goals require active strategies.

    • When traditional chiropractic care or physical therapy has failed to alleviate your aches and pains

    • Despite modifying your activity levels, your pain continues to persist

    • You’ve been told that pain relief is only possible through medication, injections or surgery

    • Your pain keeps returning because no one has addressed the underlying root cause

  • Absolutely not! In fact, our rehab strategies for low back pain often incorporate variations of squats and deadlifts. These exercises are fundamental to everyday movements, and learning to perform them safely while managing load effectively is often key to recovery. Our bodies are resilient, and with the right guidance, you can return to the activities you love without the constant fear of re-injury.

  • High levels of pain don’t necessarily mean surgery is needed. Our priority is to ensure that surgery is truly a last resort. We focus on low-risk, high-reward conservative care, using natural, non-invasive methods to reduce your pain. Surgery is typically reserved for cases involving rapid strength loss, neurological issues, changes in bowel or bladder function associated with pain, or severe numbness in areas like the thighs or multiple limbs. If we believe surgery might be necessary, we’ll recommend a consultation with a specialist to determine if it’s required.

  • In the absence of a traumatic event, X-rays or MRIs are not necessary to begin treatment. While these imaging tools provide insight into your body’s anatomy, they don’t reveal what might be causing your pain. We don’t base our treatment solely on an image. You’re a unique individual, and the only way to uncover the root cause of your pain is through a comprehensive examination. We’ll thoroughly assess your joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and discs to identify the true source of your discomfort.

  • We are dedicated to providing lasting solutions for your chronic aches and pains. Just as it took a process to reach this point, it will take a process to achieve recovery. Following your initial exam and treatment, we’ll give you a clear timeline for your recovery, along with our customized plan of care. You’ll know exactly when you can expect to return to doing the things you love! Our goal is not just to relieve your pain temporarily but to empower you with tools and strategies for sustained well-being.

  • Many of our patients have previously tried traditional physical therapy without finding lasting relief. Our approach is far from one-size-fits-all—we take the time to develop a plan tailored specifically to your goals. Unlike traditional physical therapy, which often focuses solely on isolated symptoms, we take a holistic view of your body and its interconnected systems. Our whole-body approach considers how your pain has impacted not only your physical condition but also your thoughts, emotions, and overall outlook.
